Falklands, South Georgia & Antarctica - XVGFSX171023

Postby razzladazzla » Sun Jul 23, 2017 5:45 pm

Starting to get excited now!

Been to the Antarctic once before with G, but not to the Falklands or South Georgia! And can't wait to get down there again!

And looking forward to meeting new friends to share our adventures with!

Anyone else booked on this trip, or will we be all alone?? :D

I'll be on the first sailing of the season in October, as your photographer in residence. It will be my 4th time to the Falklands and South Georgia. Incredible destination.

Looking forward to seeing you on board.

cheers

Hi Paul

Thanks for your reply and it will be great to see you again on board ship! You won't remember us, but we did the Antarctica Classic in Depth trip in November 2012 and you were on board then too. You gave Sue some great tips on exposure and not of the freezing kind! Our photos turned out great, although it's hard not to get great pictures with such stunning surroundings!

This will be our fourth time on the Expedition. We have been to the Arctic twice and now this will be our second time in the Antarctic. We have both always wanted to visit the Falklands and South Georgia though and so we are hoping that this trip will be really special. We have travelled with G on many land-based trips as well in the past.

It will be good to see some familiar faces on board ship as well and so we are glad to see that you will be there. I hope that there will be other crew members that we remember as well.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Excellent!
I am really good with faces so let us see what happens.
2012 was the launch of the photography program, so it will be great to see you again on board. This will be something like my 25th expedition on the ship and I love where we are going.

til then, email if you need anything.

cheers

Hi Kim

Good to hear from you. So there will be at least 3 of us on the trip! :D Actually, from the bookings site, I see that it's getting pretty full now.

I know it's going to be fantastic!

We are flying out a few days earlier on the 18th, to see a bit of Montevideo first, but booked into the same hotel (Dazzler) as G have booked for the first night's stay. So we may see you there!

Great to see that you have a special reason to travel and what a spectacular destination you have chosen for it! Sue and I went to the Arctic on this same ship two years ago for our silver wedding anniversary. It will be our fourth time onboard, so you can tell it can't be all bad!

Anyway, we look forward to meeting you on the other side of the world!

Hi Darren, Sue and Kim,

It won't just be 3... :D hubby Scott and I make 5 on board but yes as you say it has been filling up. We booked the trip 18 months ago - it's hubby's 40th and our 9th wedding anniv while on board (how lucky he is) and it's now getting very real - just around the corner.
We are heading over from Australia (we are originally from the UK) and cannot wait.
Had a practice kayaking session today in 30 knot winds and bright sunshine (typical Melbourne Spring weather!!) so all ready for that part of the adventure.
Will be in Buenos Aires for a couple of days beforehand and heading over to Montevideo early Mon morning.

Looking forward to meeting some fellow 'explorers'
Safe travels

Hi to you all!

I'm getting so excited! This will be my first trip down to this part of the World. I have a 6 week sabbatical from work and wanted to do something very special.

I'm travelling on my own (but please don't hold that against me! :?)

I'm flying to Buenos Aires first, arriving on the Saturday - and really look forward to meeting everyone in Montevideo if not before.

Hi Kelly, Scott & Susie

Well the replies are coming in thick and fast now! Must be getting close to the main event! :D

Lymington, just a couple of miles from us and Melbourne, hmmmm just a few more miles away from us, but with better weather!

These are great trips for single people, cos you can just mingle in with the rest of us reprobates!

9ish days to go before we head out to Montevideo. :D

Enjoy Buenos Aires all, a great city. See you across the River Plate, as we will be in Montevideo. We could wave at each other across the river, except........ hmmmmm It's wider than the English Channel and you would need a telescope!

I guess we will have to wait till we get to the Dazzler Hotel!

Looking forward to meeting the three of you.

Best Regards
