Indochina Discovery Video and Q and A

Ancient temples swallowed by the jungle, rice paddies, local markets, stunning beaches, fiery cuisine, smoking incense at the feet of a golden Buddha, and the friendliest locals around.

Hi All,

I recently got back from the Indochina Discovery and I am available to answer any questions you may have of the trip. I know I had quite a few before I left.

If you also want to check out what the experience is like have a look at my video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlmdRnrOZgA

Cheers,

Hey, Your video is awesome! looks like you had a great time.

I'm currently trying to decide between Indochina discovery and indochina encompassed. I'm a 36 year old female solo traveller. So, I'm kind of at the upper end of the "yolo" age range. But I wouldn't mind saving the $800 difference between the two tours.

I'm wondering what your thoughts are on this? Or anyone else reading this forum?

I did the Volcano trail tour in central america 2 years ago and loved it. I was fortunate that there mostly 30 somethings on this trip (but I was still the oldest at 34).

Cheers

Hi Krista,

Saving $800 is definitely worth looking at. On my tour we had quite a range of ages, most people being around 24-mid 30's with a couple of 18 year olds thrown in. I think the biggest difference will just be with the attitude you bring. If you are someone who is keen to get involved with the group, hang out, be social etc then I think you will really enjoy the 'yolo' style and age only becomes a number which no one really cares about.

We had a couple of older solo female travellers who after a while stopped hanging out with the group and started doing their own thing, and thats fine, they more viewed the trip as a means of transport to the places where they could do their own thing. I find I like travelling on group tours for the people you meet on the tour and having the stress of planning taken away.

At one point we stayed at the same hotel as the older tour group and they age range was around 40s-70s and mostly people travelling with their partners.

I would choose the Indochina Discovery as you are saving a fair bit of money and as a solo traveller I think there will be a lot more solo travellers doing Indochina Discovery then the Encompassed.

I hope that helped in some way. Feel free to ask any more questions!
