Antarctica 2012
A selection of photos from the first 3 sailings of the M/S Expedition launching the new Antarctic season. I joined the crew as expedition photographer, a stellar time!

Re: Antarctica 2012
Hi Paul,
Great shots! My wife and I are sailing on the Expedition on the Jan. 29th Classic. Are you going to be on that trip as well? I have heard from other visitors that there can be a lack of color at times. Do you recommend any particular filters to help compensate?

Re: Antarctica 2012
hi cameron,
I won't be on that sailing unfortunately.
lack of color yes it happens sometimes, but generally as a result the blue ice tends to pop more.
if there is a lack of color, your photos tend to be more monochromatic which makes for great black and white images.
hopefully you will have some sun, because everything changes.
bring a UV or IA filter for a lens protector, polarizer on sunny days only. Nuetral density filters come in handy sometimes as well when there are lots of dark rocky black shorelines and white horizons.
safe travelling,
paul
