Bangkok to Cambodia

Ancient temples swallowed by the jungle, rice paddies, local markets, stunning beaches, fiery cuisine, smoking incense at the feet of a golden Buddha, and the friendliest locals around.

Postby bri » Thu Dec 27, 2012 3:24 am

Traveling on the Vietnam, Laos & Thailand on a Shoesting start of Jan. Tour wraps up in Bangkok where I am then traveling Cambodia after the trip. Can any one suggest the best way to get from Bangkok to Siem Reap ? Is their a choice of buslines ? If so any favourable ?

Thanks

Your CEO on your first trip should be able to help you out with that.

I'm doing exactly the same tour then on to Cambodia after!

It's a really easy route, there is a train straight from Bankok station at 05:55 every day and arriving Aranyaprathet on the boarder to Cambodia at 11:35. It's only 48 baht which is about £1 and there is no reservation needed you can turn up and buy a ticket. You then can walk straight across into Cambodia and there are loads of taxis and tuk tuks waiting to take you into Siem Reap.

It's the cheapest easiest way. Just make sure you have $20 and a passport photo for the Visa on the border. From Siem Reap you can either get a bus or the speedboat down to Phenom Phen.

For a step by step use this link to a really handy website!

Hope this helps :) Jo
