Walking Footwear

I'm going on the Roam Egypt tour next week. Will Karrimor walking sandals be appropriate footwear for walking or would I need walking boots?

If hiking on Sinai features on the trip the some broken in lightweight summer walking boots will be OK but if not the walking shoes should surfice. Egypt in "winter" should be warm/hot days, with cold nights. Enjoy the trip!
