How much money - Cuba Colonial

We are from the states and won't be able to use credit cards. Probably get Canadian dollars because we were told less of a charge to change into Cuban money. (Right?) How much per person per day? We will be there a couple days early.

I spent around £1000 for three weeks - I took all cash - because the ATM's dont work whether they are American or otherwise. Very wise to just take cash. I like to party however!!

Hi, I'm going on the Cuba Colonial tour this summer. I've never been on a tour like this before and have never been to Central America. I was wondering how much people have spent on this tour (meals, excursions, etc)? I have no idea how much to bring! Any advice would be great, thanks

I brought $800 and found it plenty. I didn't do too many extra excursions, ate mostly at the homestays, but bought cigars and a few souvenirs.

I did this tour last year and I brought $1000 Canadian cash. I exchanged all of my money upon arrival at the airport into CUC. I had maybe $200 left at the end of the trip and just exchanged it back to Canadian dollars at the airport before I left. I did use my Mastercard once in Havana to pay for a dinner and if I remember correctly, there was a 3 or 5% service fee...something like that.
