spending money in SE asia

Hey!
Im going on the Roam Vietnam an Cambodia tour in december (for approx 3weeks) and then spending 4 weeks in thailand after that....7 weeks til I go, yay!!

How much spending money would be needed approx? I know its quite hard coz people spend their money in different ways and I have also read that eating and drinking is really cheap as well as accom but to do like touristy things etc?
Really appreciate any feedback as starting to have a wee freak out lol

If it helps, I traveled to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam last march on my own and had a $40/day budget. I stayed in guesthouses, took some tours, drank lots of buckets and beer and bought lots of souvenirs and I still had some cash left over!
