How come there's no Australia or New Zealand trips :(
I noticed there are no Australia or New Zealand trips with G Adventures anymore. Do they plan on adding more? Do you know of any alternative companies that you'd recommend (with positive experience with them of course lol)?
I've found a few but they are so expensive!

I'm planning to do it myself this year and the more I research the more time I need it seems
I only have 4 weeks so looking at my MUST-DO's first and most of it will be spent on the South Island

I've signed up to the forum to ask exactly the same question! Seems like an obvious place for them to do and as this company seems so highly recommended I'm quite bummed to see there is nothing.
It's a honeymoon trip for my new wife and I and Contiki just seems... unsuitable. :-/ but we'd prefer to go with a tour group, we're still young and like the company (and will be doing the romantic/alone time seperately)...

They used to offer NZ trips, but so easy to get around on your own cheaper so plan a trip yourself. Naked Bus and Kiwi Experience offer cheap bus transport and stop at most backpackers accom. They work the main touring trails, hop on/hop off system if you get the right ticket.

You can always check back in September, new trips are always being added and some get retired. If there's demand then we can probably justify running a trip. Hope G Adventures can deliver.

Re: How come there's no Australia or New Zealand trips :(
i went to NZ and Oz last year (2 months each), never went on holiday before, never in a plane before, considered myself introvert as well.
From Belgium, to Auckland, Christchurch to Melbourne, Cairns to darwin and back, back home from Cairns.
Do it by yourself, it's extremely easy. I just booked my flights that's it. Nothing planned (except the milford track!) In NZ i took the local bus (intercity, really friendly maori busdrivers, in OZ greyhound) met a lot of people from the magic bus (hard to make friends on intercity) and met them over and over again in NZ. (there is reallly only one road, everybody takes). In OZ i took a greyhound buspass from Sydney to Cairns) I started in Melbourne but every greyhound seat was booked because of the easter holidays, so i took an overnight train.
Sleep in hostels (i did YHA) so you're never alone if you don't want to.

Re: How come there's no Australia or New Zealand trips :(
Oooh Aus and NZ tours!!!!
Most of them look pretty good - not too sure of the Brisbane to Cairns one, seems to skip a lot of place.
I am definitely adding the Melbourne to Darwin trip to my to-do list!
It's a bit exxy at 2799 for only 18 days, but the places that you're going especially the Outback are expensive in general due to its complete remoteness so the price is easily justified. Oooh just noticed the Melbourne to Alice Springs trip which drops the price to $1999 for 14 days. Seems that its the last 4 days that bump it up that extra $800..... I know the Ghan train (from Alice to Darwin) is quite expensive which is probably the main cause....
Would be keen for a big trip round NZ as well!

Re: How come there's no Australia or New Zealand trips :(
Hi all
I was really excited when I saw that G were doing trips to Australia new Zealand for 2013 . yipee I thought until I had a look through them. I was quiet interested in new Zealand the trip for 21 days .There is such lot packed in. Great , then I read through the details and I see its a YOLO trip. . I am outside that bracket. The G plus trip is only 11 days. I know I could add on more days myself but I thought I could get a similar trip as the yolo trip and also the Yolo trip packs a lot in for the price which I think is better value.
:):) On another note I noticed the trip I took this year Canadian Rockies westbound has been changed to a YOLO trip. We were a mix of ages on that trip earlier this year.
Any thoughts on this. I think there are a lot of people outside of the Yolo age bracket that would like to have more choice in trips to New Zealand.
Cheers
Sorry for having a bit of a rant.
