Re: CGAC Mayan Sun
Hello - I am going on this in trip but starting in antigua in Nov (very excited
) wondered how much cash versus credit/debit card or travellers cheques to take - I dont want to run out of money and have no way of getting money but equally dont want to carry it all around for obvious reasons? Does anyone have any advice?
Looks amazing - cannot wait

I would skip traveller's checks all together...
I usually get a few days worth of cash at a time from ATMs of credit or debit cards...check with your bank about fees, and warn them your cards will be used in Central America. If you're going to be in an area with no ATMs, your tour leader should let you know.

Mayan Sun
Trip Code: CGAC / CMCA
Trip Style: YOLO
Service Level: Basic
Max Group Size: 15
Duration: 16 Days
This was a trip that I didn't expect to be as exciting as it turned out to be! I was completely blown away by everything that we got to exprience. The vid speaks for itself I hope. I highly recomend it, just keep in mind that because its a Basic service level, not much was included in terms of meals or activities. Go down with at least 750 dollars (that will vary from person to person... but thats the minimum).

Also, expect the accommodation to be more basic and same with the transport. But, as my tour leader would always say - "Believe in the Bubble of Love and you will only have the best of times. Forget about any negative thoughts, as they are not important".
I also highly recomend going from Guatemala to Mexico rather than the other way around. Nothing like relaxing towards the end of your trip.
Leave me a message / note under my YouTube page, I am more likely to get that and respond.
Have a fantastic adventure yall!

Re: CGAC Mayan Sun
No negative outcomes for me, felt very safe walking around during the day...a little more cautious at night and in the market area where it's more crowded. Just be aware of your surroundings.
