Nothing as exciting as the rest of you, but during some time spent in Germany I travelled to Cologne to experience Die Faschung, a carnival, which was absolutely crazy. All I remember is that I met and found Nemo!!

Nothing funnier once you've had a few bevvies than a grown man dressed in a bright orange fish costume... he was the talk of the town, everyone wanted a photo with Nemo. Just a genius idea!

I happened to see a couple movies yesterday on Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc) and realized May 30 marks the 580th anniversary of her death. I'm not sure there are any particular "events" planned for that but it would be interesting to visit Domremy, Orleans and Rouen to see the ground that remarkable woman covered and the effect she had on history in just a couple short years.
... and I see Jan 2012 marks the 600th anniversary of her birth ...

I studied Jeanne d'Arc as my oral project for French A-level a few years ago... I reckon Jan 2012 would be a fantastic time to trace her historic footsteps!
Shame it's in France though...
