Antarctica Pictures (lots) + Review

Famous for its enormous icebergs, towering glaciers and shimmering summer light, Antarctica offers some of the planet's most awe inspiring landscapes. The North Atlantic and Arctic evoke images of sparse snow covered lands, but when summer comes it bursts with colour and life.

Love the photos and the enhancements - amazing stuff. I recognise Scott McPhail & Julio so assume you were on the MS Expedition? Which trip was this, which dates? We were on Jan 1-Jan10 this year. A trip of a lifetime :)

How did the Sigma 50-500mm OS work out for you? I've got that lens and I'm planning on taking it with me but I'd like to know how useful it was for you.

You took a lot of great photos.

Wow, excellent photos! Makes me wish it was already December so I could get on with my trip already.

Thank you for sharing what lenses you took, by the way. My fiance will be happy to know he doesn't need to cart everything he owns down there!

It's a great lens. Stabilization helps a lot, over the older version. I do feel as it's more for a crop budy and not for my 21mp 5DII(5DIII now). There's a bit of vignetting on a full frame.
