Snus/snuff (moist powder tobacco) abroad?

Postby wasmuth » Mon Dec 13, 2010 12:40 pm

Does anyone have any experience with bringing snus into countries in Oz, , USA, Asia (Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos)? I want to bring my snus when I'm going to backpack in January, but I'm not going to do it if it's illegal. Does anyone know if it's illegal in any countries? :P

I reckon you are scandinavian in some sence, so I`ll post a swedish link for you.

Not listed there is Cambodia, but I don`t really believe that they hold many laws different from their neighbours.

Hehe, so am I.

Anyways, never heard about it, and I really don`t believe so.
It pretty much works as a regular tax-free thingy. Go above the amount and you may have to pay a fine or get it confiscated. So I wouldnt recommend that.

Even managed to get it into Singapore at one stage, not really planned as we used it as a stop-over on our way to Australia, and joined in on a daytour from Changi(airport) to downtown. Had a box in my pocket, and managed to get it through customs both ways.

Even though it is legal, I guess I`ll advice against using it in and around customs, as it may spark an interest from the ppl in charge, and you might go through some questioning before being allowed into the country.
