Panic - arrival
Hello,
I was hoping to get a bit of advice from someone who has been on one of these tours before. I booked my trip on the weekend and then realised that my flight doesn't arrive until after 6pm on the day my tour starts. As the tour doesn't leave the hotel until day 2, I'm not overly worried about not getting there, it's just I'm worried about not getting there in time for the initial meeting. Is it such a big deal if I miss this meeting? I've been assured that the tour guide will get me up to speed when I arrive, but I'm worried.
If I could do my itinerary over, I would, but, at this stage, I think changing flight time, etc is gonna cost a lot of money. From someone who has done this before, is it worth me changing the flight times (at a cost) for the added peace of mind or am I freaking out for no reason? Thanks.

If you can make it to the hotel promptly, you might still make the end part of the meeting. Generally, you'll go over your itinerary, where you'll be staying etc... and then normally there are a few folks that will want to go for dinner/drinks. If you don't meet them that night don't worry, if you are sharing a room, your room mate can bring you up to speed or you'll get all the good stuff at breakfast.
Enjoy your trip and have a great time.

Thanks. Yes, I'm sure it will be OK, huh. I was fine about everything the day that I booked it, now I'm just finding anything and everything to panic about!
Thanks for the reassurance. I just hope I don't get stuck in the hotel on my tod on the first night - that'll be a great start! :-p Oh well... I'll just have to wait and see.

Nothing to worry about...your Tour Leader will be aware of everyone's arrival dates/times. Usually there is information about the meeting point etc at reception and sometimes a welcome note!
Even if you end with your own room and miss the initial meeting etc there's absolutely nothing to be worried about...your leader will update you in the morning.
Happy Travels!
