Travel videos

Postby Fonwan » Sun Apr 25, 2010 7:12 pm

The last couple of years i was extremely lucky to have so many opportunities to travel. Besides taking tons of photos, i often shot short videoclips. Ussually when looking back at each individual videoclip, it is not so interesting, especially for others who were not on the trip. I made an attempt to edit them into a more interesting video. While I am still in the progress of improving myself, I wanted to share my travel videos with you guys.

I have them on Vimeo as I have some problems with uploading it to my GAP profile.

My last video from a trip to Antarctica in November 2009. It was a 11-day trip to the peninsula, with lots and lots of penguins.

GAP trip to China, Laos and Thailand in May 2009. I have to admit the first few minutes aren't very exciting, but it gets better, especially on the halfway mark when we enter Laos.

GAP trip to Peru in December 2008. Again, the first couple of minutes aren't extremely exciting as we are in/around Lima, but once outside the city it becomes way better

Non-GAP trip to Egypt and Jordan in February 2008. It was only my second video ever, a bit overdramatic music in the beginning maybe

Non-GAP trip to the USA in November 2007. My very first video

A couple of short videos:

The world at my feet, literally. Compilation of me walking around at different places in the world. Most videos were shot in the last 2,5 years. Notice i still have the same old shoes...

http://vimeo.com/8198013
A short satirical photomontage with photos from the Antarctica trip. Not to be taken too serious. I had nothing to do on the airplane, so I edited this movie on the plane ride home.

http://vimeo.com/7414274
Helicopter ride at the Grand canyon. Just wait till the 0:46 mark, it is worth it.

I have 2 GAP trips lined up for this year. Next month I'll hit Morocco and in September I'll do the Arctic Highlights trip. So enough opportunity to make a few more videos :)

Neat videos Fonwan, thanks for sharing! I admit I didn't get through all of them yet, but enjoyed the one of you walking around the world, and loved the first glimpse of Yosemite in the USA vid... it almost looked ethereal in all the mist! You sure have been fortunate to travel to all of those places, good thing you remembered to document some of it.

WOW, what great opportunities you've had and thanks for sharing them with us.

I loved the Antarctica videos and the 'Invasion of the Humans' was sooooo hilarious and very apt. As for 'The world at my feet'...what a novel way of capturing your travels.

Cool!
