CDN Currency for Trips
I just noticed that all currencies are now in U.S. dollars. When did this change? Is the option to view in your local currency gone or am I missing a setting?

Yup, still in U.S. currency. I went to the bottom of the page and selected Canada from the home page but it doesn't do anything with the currency. Maybe it's a glitch and it's actually CDN but just labled as USD??

Re: Currency for Trips
Just wondering if any Canadians are seeing the tour prices in Cdn dollars or are they showing in U.S. dollars?
Edit: Nevermind, the currency is now showing in Canadian dollars...I liked the prices better in U.S. dollars...

Re: CDN Currency for Trips
Again, all my tour prices are showing up in U.S. Dollars even though I've selected Canada as the region at the bottom of the screen. There must be a bug with the tour prices. It seems to go back and forth on it's own. Very frustrating!

Re: CDN Currency for Trips
Possibly an ISP issue Daniel.
Prices are dtermined automatically based on the location of where you are surfing the website. So if you surf our site from a US-based IP Address / connection, you'll see US prices.
Sounds like your internet connection may sometimes use a US-based address.
Downunder I get odd issues cropping up as I use different ISPs as my home and work computers access the net through different telco's.

Re: CDN Currency for Trips
Hey Jim,
No, my isp is my cable company which is from Toronto. I even get the same thing from my work which is not U.S. based.
Everything seems to have gone back to normal now. It just comes and goes...it's only started happening in the last few weeks as well. I've never had this problem for the last few years. It seems to have started with the changes GAP introduced lately...sort of like the missing avatars...
Edit: I spoke to soon, it's back to U.S. dollars!
Seems to be there should be a selection somewhere for how you want the currency displayed. It gets a little frustrating trying to determine costs day by day.

Re: CDN Currency for Trips
I'm logged into my work vpn and it now shows Canadian. I'll try logging out of my vpn and access GAP via my own ISP right now and see what happens.
Ok logged out and went back to GAP and sure enough it now shows American dollars. Logged back into my work vpn and now shows Canadian!
Not sure why Rogers would show as American? FUnny thing is this only started happening after the upgrade as far as I could tell.
Maybe GAP should add a drop down box for "Select Currency" somewhere on their site to prevent things like this from happening.

Daniel --
It sounds to me like Rogers (at least your branch of it) is using IP numbers that are officially registered as US locale. Consequently when GAP's site does a lookup, it comes up with a US address and therefore gives you US$ figures.
It would be best if GAP were to allow you to select a currency of your choice anyway since you might be researching your next trip while away from home.

Re: CDN Currency for Trips
Hi all,
I have never been able to access CDN prices - whether at home or at work, it always shows USD (also tried clicking the country thing at the bottom of the page, but nothing happened - anyone know what that is supposed to be for?) I'm with Telus, not sure what work uses.....

Isn't that odd .....
I used to be able to toggle between CDN and US prices. Now, it only shows in CDN dollars for me, wherever I log on, which I love.
