World Environment Day: What are you doing?
What are YOU doing for the environment? Tell the United Nations about your activity for World Environment Day or find out what you can do from their list of Daily Tips. At Planeterra, every day is environment day. We strive to work for the environment - people and planet - in every aspect of what we do. Read more about our community projects around the world and how you can make a difference.
Planeterra is the non-profit organization founded by Gap Adventures in 2003. Planeterra supports and develops community projects worldwide that travellers can visit on Voluntours and other Gap Adventures. Visit http://www.planeterra.org

Me?I'm sitting here reading this on June 5th over here, wondering why this hasn't been promoted in our media more>Didn't know.
Guess I'll pull all that corrugated cardboard out of the skip ,rip it up and compost it.
Yeah, we do dump a lot of stuff that could be recycled.
Resolved to do more.

Hadn't heard about WED here either but I notice that there is an event in the city of Colima, a couple of hours away. It is one of only two registered WED events for Mexico.
Jim, there are seven events registered for NZ. Any near you?

For my part, I will take my recycling to my sister's house today because her trash collection service picks up recycling (rare in Mexico) and mine does not. I will also take a bag of leftover medications to the animal shelter today. Because I am moving, I will make a concerted effort to find re-use opportunities for the things I cannot keep (very easy to do here) instead of tossing them in the trash. Also, I vow to plant trees at my new house.
