That looks like a cool toy to have. I'd buy it if I had the money. I've been looking into getting a digital SLR anyway - what's an extra $120?

Cool stuff for sure! This could be lots of fun. I know someone that has a GPS device for their camera, it's quite the fun accessory. Could be taht Merax one, I'm not sure. I don't think it will be long before GPS information is built into some digital SLR cameras and captured in the image EXIF data automatically.

I've found a couple of other options too, although haven't seen the JOBO one actually for sale anywhere. It looks interesting as it connects directly to the hotshoe of an SLR. (Which has advantages and disadvantages of course)

Damn you. I saw this thread while looking for threads discussing camera lenses and the next thing I know, I'm ordering one of these. Not the Photofinder mini but the Amod AGL3080 ... I like the format for the AGL and the fact it uses AAA batteries. Just wish it would have a readout display to provide current location and time from GPS, guess I'll have to think about packing my Garmin too ...

I'm tempted to get one of these items soon too...but am also hoping that by the time I buy my next DSLR it'll have built-in GPS tagging.....one can only hope. The official Nikon GPS device is over $200, which is too much for a "toy" for me.

I had been looking for one for a while. Would be a cool toy, but for now, it's a bit too expensive to have. And you'll have to bring bunch of batteries or a recharger with you. The batteries probably only last you a couple days.

The description for the one I ordered says the batteries last about 15-16 hours. No matter, I'll be packing a recharger along with me.
