CRBO20130529: Best of Central America May 29,2013

Postby adrian_ucla » Sun Mar 31, 2013 5:26 pm

Hi my name is Adrian and I'm booked for the 32 day tour and am curious to find out who else might be going. I plan on starting solo in Panama the week before and heading over to San Jose to start the tour.

Best wishes.

Hey,

I'm on the same tour but the one starting on the 22nd May. Should be cool though. Apparently, the volcano walk in La Fortuna is a must.

My name is Amna and I'm booked on the same tour too (29th May!). I'm arriving a few days early but just spending those wandering around Costa Rica :)

So just out of curiosity where are you all coming from and why are you taking this tour? Im from Los Angeles. My priority is seeing the archaeological sites, though a close second is the wildlife and nature trails. Looking forward to meeting you all in person.

Hi! I'm from London, and my priority is probably the trekking. Although it all sounds pretty amazing! Also looking forward to trying things like zip-lining (terrified of heights so should be interesting). Looking forward to meeting you all too! Did any of you pay for the adrenaline pack? I bought it and then read reviews that it'd be cheaper to pay for everything while there - but too late for a refund so oh well! :-)

Not long to go now. I'm starting to get really excited about the trip. I'm looking forward to seeing the mayan ruins, experience the culture, learn more about the history of the different countries - and hopefully get some sun. :D Looking forward to meeting you all. Sian

Hi, my name is Jess and I'm from Melbourne, Australia! I'm really looking forward to the tour starting. So far, I think the whole tour looks fantastic, not sure what I'm most excited about. I'll spend a few days first before the tour in San Jose - any recommendations for accommodation? Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi Jess, when are you arriving in San Jose? My friend and I are arriving on Monday 27th and staying at the Adventure Inn. If you want, we can meet earlier and explore San Jose before the tour starts. If you give me your email I can let you know what my friend and I planned and you can see if you want to join us? Also, is anyone planning on taking malaria tablets? I don't think we need them but just want to ask in case :-) See you all soon!

I still am not sure what day I will make it to San Jose, depends how much I like Panama. Also after the tour ends I plan on spending a few days in Cancun, never been, figured this was as good a time as any. I spoke to my physician and she mentioned Hep A immunization as being the most important. I was also warned about malaria, but she didnt seem to take the threat too seriously. I didnt pick up the adrenaline pack, I wanted to play it by ear. Getting more and more anxious by the day, cant wait.

Hi! That sounds fantastic as I'm traveling solo. I'm getting into San Jose late on the 25th, so am keen to meet up earlier and have some people to look around with! jessieleepearce@gmail.com
I booked the adrenaline pack when I booked the tour. Also, I'm thinking of spending a week in Mexico after the tour, most likely in Playa del Carmen then I'm travelling the US for 6 weeks.
I didn't get malaria tablets in the end, most of the regions we're going to seemed ok in my Dr opinion and the side effects of the tablets aren't fun when traveling!

My friend and I are also staying in Cancun till the 2nd July - have never been either. Do you guys know where you're staying? Should be good! Fingers crossed the weather will be ok while we're out there! My Doctor said the same thing about the malaria tablets - just recommended bug spray in the evening and thats it :-) So excited!

I'm looking for a place to stay in Cancun right now, was considering trying out one of those all inclusive places, but I'm hesitant. Any recommendations?

We spent ages looking around for hotels in Cancun. Decided on an all inclusive place too - the price just worked out a lot better. I think our hotel is called Krystal Cancun. The price isn't too bad but that may be because we're sharing a room. The reviews were pretty good though so take a look.
