Lima to Buenos Aires Adventure

Postby lozza1988 » Sun Mar 02, 2014 2:27 pm

Hi,

I have booked to go on the Lima to Buenos Aires Adventure 22nd June-26th July and wondered if any fellow travellers were doing the Lares Trek? The Inca Trail is sold out so I'm umming and arrring about whether to do the Lares Trek or stay in Cusco?

Do the Lares Trek!!!

I did it with just one other person this February as the inca trail was closed and loved it!!!

Chances are there'll be someone else in your group that missed out on inca trail passes, or G will put you with other people from other tours who are also doing the trek at the same time. It was such an amazing experience, don't miss out on it simply because not everyone will be doing it.

Hey,

Thanks for the reply kcupp95 :)

Did you do the same trip I am doing? I've never traveled before and will be going it alone  Really can't wait though it looks amazing :D

Did you find the Lares Trek difficult?

I did inca heartland sorry.

Didn't find it too difficult, but had been hiking/running for the last 9 months. I just had a bit of nausea and headaches which were relieved easily with panadol, nurofen and Maxolon.

Take some pocket sized sugary snacks. I found I felt quite faint just before the top of the pass but chocolate/juice/sandwhich fixed it. They gave us snacks to take whilst trekking.

Make sure you have waterproof shoes and I would recommend waterproof gloves. I didn't have those and my hands were freezing from the rain which caused me the most distress out of everything!
