Bolivia Salt Flats - Limited Access?

Postby klm500 » Fri Mar 08, 2013 4:40 am

Hi

I am due to go on a tour next week which involves the 3 night Bolivia salt flat trip. I was just looking on the UK foreign office website, and noticed that it says the following:

"The local authorities have limited access to the Uyuni Salt Flats indefinitely due to severe rain. Visits are limited to a small area of the flats around the town of Colchani. Check local conditions before attempting to visit the area."

Does anyone know if this is correct? Has anyone been recently? I'm a bit concerned, as I was really looking forward to this part of the trip!

Thanks.

Kathryn.

When there are conditions that affect any G Adventure (and even some that don't) a notice will get posted to the safety guide.

You can find it here:
