Classic Peru, what to bring with, where to pack?

Postby riitta k » Wed Nov 14, 2012 10:11 am

We are four ladies coming to Classic Peru 24 th of November. This is our first travel with GAP, and we are eagerly waiting for it. There are a few minor questions: as far as I have understood, we travel by normal long-distance bus from Puno to Cuzco, and there is also included boat journey at Lake Titicaca.
Now the questions are: can we take normal hard shell luggage with, or should we have something soft and better adjusting things? And while we stay overnight at Taquile island, what would be appropriate to bring to the host family?
Thanks for the advises!

Hi Riitta,

I have done 3 tours with GAP in South America, and been to Peru. Usually people carry a 75L (or more) backpack with them, makes things somewhat easier I feel.

Before you stay with the host family your guide will/should bring you around to buy stuff for them. Will be dried food like pasta, fruits, etc.

Have a good time in Peru!!
