Best time for flights into Lima

Anyone have an idea of a good time to fly into Lima. We are going to do the Inca Trail in either September/October or April/May. The price of flights might be a deciding factor. Any thoughts?

When I flew to Lima it seemed most of the international flights arrived in the evening to late evening. Not much choice as to arrival time. The Miraflores hotels are very much used to this. AND... if you are flying out to Cusco the very next morning, plan on spending the night at the airport. Lots of folks do. Just isn't enough time to do a transfer to your hotel and then get back at a VERY !! early time to catch your flight out. Lots of discussion on this topic in other threads that you could do a search for.

Thanks grey! We are planning on an overnight in Lima before heading to Cuzco for sure!

Just to clarify though, I'm wondering more about time of year. We are debating going in September...but if flights are much better priced in October, we might push it back.
