We are new to this but would love to meet if you are travelling on the Amazon River Boat Cruise in Peru October 13-20th.
We are both from Canada in our mid 50's and always like to meet new travellers and share travel stories. We are also wildlife photographers at heart (Canon ) and are always eager to learn photo tips and or share equipment.
Cheers for now and hope to see you in October

Would love to hear about your trip last October on the Amazon river boat. We are taking this trip leaving August 31st. Keep getting conflicting advice re vaccines we might or might not need. Did you take any medical precautions? Thanks

Re: Amazon River Boat Cruise - vaccinations

Postby tracynic » Sat Jul 27, 2013 1:00 am

We did the trip in March. It depends what vaccinations you've had before - Hep A and B are important to have. We did actually chose to have the yellow fever vaccination. We found mosquitoes were not an issue so you can choose whether to use anti-malarial. I do a lot of caving and have never chosen to do the series of rabies shots even though it was highly recommended for that area. We swam in the river and of course ate produce and fish and had no health problems from the trip. Hope this helps.
