Buenos Aires - Tango Show

Postby carlito25 » Mon Jun 27, 2011 4:26 pm

I need some advice on what is acceptable/respectable for a man to wear at a tango show in BA. I'd rather not carry around dress pants, shirt, and shoes for one night of the trip, unless I'd look completely silly otherwise.

Any help on this would be awesome! Thanks all.

Smart casual is required, not jeans or tennis shoes so much.
You'll need a decent outfit for going out evenings in Argentina anyway as this is the norm in restaurants etc.

Smart casual is the way to go...as for jeans then if it's a dark solid colour paired with a smart top/shirt and shoes will be fine. I always take a really smart pair of black jeans which can be easily dressed-up...just not those faded/torn pale blue types!

I went in decent slacks, a business-casual long sleeve collared shirt (no tie) and had hiking shoes on. I was worried about dress too but I wasn't taking semi-formal dress on the Antarctica trip -- no problems from anyone.
