power trip --Peru Pun

Hey,

Just wondering if someone can let me know if I should be bringing a power or voltage adaptor for anything to Peru and if so... what kind?

It's more for camera batteries and maybe an iPod.

It all depends on what country you are coming from. Most world wide electronics already support 100-220V so check the devices you want to bring and you may just need an adapter.

I recommend bringing a converter. Peru uses 220volts. I blew out my cell phone charger the first day in Lima. (and I live in the US.) I didn't test it any place else, I just used the converter and all was well. This link might be helpful too. http://treehouse.ofb.net/go/en/voltage/Peru

Most camera battery chargers are dual voltage (110-220) and will work fine in Peru. All the plug-ins I encountered accepted both north American two prong and European two pin type in one socket.
I didn't need my adapter plug after all.
