Updated Bolivia Visa?

Hi- looked around the forum for an up-to-date response on this, but couldn't find one. I'm wondering if anyone has any info about getting a visa at the border? We will be crossing into Bolivia from Peru on the Bolivia on a Shoestring adventure but we're not sure if we should come equipped with a visa. A lot of the things we've read have said to just get it at the border, but a few others said they are trying to crack down on Americans/making it harder to get one. Anyone have any recent experience with this or know anything? Thanks! Side note- we have to get the Yellow Fever vacc. so that won't be an issue at the border. Just worried about the actual visa. :)

It does state that a visa can be obtained at Bolivian ports of entry...take a look and hopefully a fellow traveller will post their experience. I'm from the UK so no visas are required...pretty easy for us.
