In Search Of Iguassu - Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro

Postby jennifer604 » Mon Nov 29, 2010 4:04 pm

Hi!

I'm thinking of doing the In Search Of Iguassu - Buenos Aires to Rio de Janeiro
17 days trip in January or else the Central American Journey trip... any recommendations or anybody planning to go on these/have gone already? The January 3rd date has 7 spots left but the next one is already full, anybody know why there would be so many spots left for Jan 3rd? I'm travelling alone so hopefully there will be other solo travellors as well!

J :)

Hi Jennifer,

I am also a single traveller and have booked the in search for inguassu falls (BA - Rio) starting on 3 Januray 2011.

It looks like a great tour, maybe because it is close to NYE less people have booked. But regardless, you will not be the only solo traveller, so definately book!

I just did this trip Nov 13 to 29 and it was amazing!!! I had a fantastic group of 15 solo travelers from 8 different countries and of course a great tour leader. We had a bit of rain along that way but even that didn't stop of us from enjoying every minute of it.

Book now, you won't regret it!

I'm doing the great south american journey which includes In search of Iguassu at the end! How did you find it? any tips/advice? Would you reccomend bringing water proofs and hiking boots with the rain then??? I'm finding it so hard to decide what to pack!

Thanks, Mireille

Hey. I'm considering this one for August. Anyone has any insights on weather and what's related? I wish i could go shorts all the trip :( But it's winter, right?.... I guess that i could go with shorts in Rio de Janeiro but maybe in Buenos Aires that would be too little, right?...
Anyone joining in?..

It doesn't always, but it can snow in Buenos Aires in the winter so I'd take some warm layers. Your trip details recommend a fleece top, windproof/waterproof jacket, long pants and sturdy walking shoes in addition to shorts, sandals, sun hat, and swim wear.

I just came back from Buenos Aires and it was a little on the chilly side to wear shorts (plus no locals wear them so you stick out like a sore thumb as a tourist!). I would imagine you would need warm clothes in August.

Can anyone who has done this trip advise on the quality of accommodation ? I have read sometimes camping is required ? Also is there long overland journeys from place to place..
