Security Situation in Eastern Turkey

Postby bojabes » Mon Sep 23, 2013 3:12 pm

I was thinking about going on the Eastern Turkey Adventure in the Spring of 2014 and was wondering if anyone has any feedback or experience about the security situation, especially near the Syrian border? I took the Best of Turkey trip in 2011 and had such a good time. Wanting to experience more. Thanks.

Turkey is not that bad if you take positive thinking and don't draw too many attention about how you look or act, most awful places are probably bigger tourist towns, where local men are desperate to find a European girl to marry and have a visa out of Turkey.

Thanks but I'm not overly concerned about Turkish men wanting to meet European women. I'm a Canadian guy and was really wondering about the security situation in eastern Turkey as it relates to the civil war in Syria. Any comments? Opinions? Recent experiences?

Hi Bojabes,
This is ibo (Ibrahim) I am a CEO in Turkey. I led one eastern turkey trip and we had around 10 trips this year. No single issue. All safe. And it is an awesome trip. Don't miss it. I felt so bad because of leading only one this year :(
Eastern Turkey is MAGIC ! I recommended it one of my passengers she is also one of my best friend now and she really enjoyed it. I can send her e-mail to you if you still like to hear from someone had the real experience.

Hi Ibo. Thanks for the feedback. Your opinion and experiences are exactly what I wanted to know. I think my brother and I are going to go for it! Cheers and thanks again.
