Luggage for Greek Sailing Trips
Hi guys-
i'm wondering what kind of luggage to use for the greek sailing trip coming up. I know we can't use hard suitcases. Are hiking packs ok? A couple people have mentioned back packs which to me is the same thing as the book bag i used in grade school and would never fit all my stuff. I'm hoping a hiking pack is fine.
Thanks!
Leslie

You're on a 50-foot yacht and there's really no storage room beyond the small locker space you get in the cabin. A hiking pack is certainly better than a suitcase (even soft-sided) but a collapsible duffel bag is even better. There's a reason you usually see sailors using duffels.
Think about something like these:

I carried all my clothes, underwater camera, dive mask, snorkel and other equipment in a 75 liter bag although I admit my regular camera equipment, laptop and guide books were in another carry-on size duffel bag. As it was, I had more than I needed for the sailing trip but that was because I had a week-long coach trip to take after the sail.
You will do yourself an incredible favor if you keep your packing to 75 liters or less.
