Mont Blanc Explorer

Postby a22wong » Fri Nov 19, 2010 10:24 pm

HI: I am interested in the 8-day Mont Blanc Explorer (not trekking mont blanc one) this coming September. I couldn't find any reviews on the site. It seems like no one has gone on this trip.

Has anyone gone on this trip? Can anyone give me some feedback on this trip?

Have you gotten any feedback re this trip, I'd like to go Sept 2012 but want some feedback first, find it weird there's nothing on this site from someone who has gone. Here is my email: hannacox@rogers.com if you have any information or feedback, I'd really appreciate a reply. Or - maybe you know of another site where I could get any information or feedback on tours, including Gap Adventure Tours.

Many thanks!

Only info I can find is here- viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1295#p5061
Would be really great if more people did come back on and post a review on their trip.
Hope this helps.

Hi! Just wondering if anyone has gone on this trip and what their impressions were. I'm considering it for August. Am also thinking about the Trekking Mont Blanc trip. Thanks!

I've noticed that there were no post regarding this tour in the forum. I thought I should write up something after I have done it, so that other people have some kind of reference. :)

I went on the Mont Blanc Explorer tour during the middle of September. It was approaching the end of the hiking season. Both Chamonix and Courmayeur were pretty quiet. For most of the time, our tour group seems to be the only one on the hiking trail which made it a rather peaceful experience. I'm only a beginner hiker but the walks were totally doable and the sceneries were amazing. Our guide, Sarah, was very encouraging and patient when we were dragging our feet at the steep hills. Our week started off a bit wet and the weather in the mountains can be unpredictable. It is very important to pack the right amount of clothing. I'm very glad that I've brought along my thermals but I still need to purchase a thin down jacket. I personally don't like to hike in boiling heat, so September is a good choice. But the towns are probably more lively during the July and August when most people take their vacations. Overall, it was a really lovely trip that brings a lot of good memories. I would recomment this tour to anyone who are not yet ready to do a trekking version. This is a very good alternative.
