Moko the dolphin
Just been for a short trip up around our East Cape.Spent time exploring Mahia, and Gisborne areas. And while walking Gisborne's waterfront harbour area, we were blessed with being able to see Moko interacting with swimmers right in front of our riverside motel.

Apparently he has several favoured spots along the east cape coast.

I thought I'd share this with you all!
If you're travelling through our East Cape area, you may be lucky as we were.

Very cool, Jim.
Do you know why matemoko is not off with the other
dolfins? He obviously enjoys humans a lot, but I would
think he'd want to hang out with a buddy or girlfriend
now and then.

Re: Moko the dolphin
Not sure why he's on his own.I guess there are times when for whatever reason a dolphin may be separated or ostracised from a pod.But he's finding plenty of company around humans.
Just have to watch him around young kids, because he is a big and boisterous clown at times. Also, some kayakers have been surprised when this big fin surfaces close to their boat, and they've struck out at him, probably confusing him with a shark in the heat of the moment.
