Hello!

We are on that trip! We are from Calgary. Planning on arriving 2 or 3 days prior In Buenos Aires and probably staying another 2 wks after to tour around that area after cruise is done. Are you Kayaking as well?

Hi there

Hope you made it thru the disasters in Calgary and are enjoying Stampede. I'm flying to buenos Aires a week early and only staying an extra day in Ushuaia. The money sort of runs out then. No I won't be kyacking, unfortunately. Great news that parkas are now included in the trip. I have very little in the way of winter gear although I did buy a parka several years ago to visit my brother in Ontario. Never worn it since and it is not waterproof. Are you doing anything special to get ready?

I suppose our "special prep" is taking "serious" kayak lessons since our current experience has all been in tropical weather

We survived the flood as we are in an area away from the river. Things are moving along well but I think the city is still in shock. It will be harder in a few months when the reality and gravity of it all truly sets in. We are also glad there is a parka. Despite Calgary being cold, we do not own any expedition clothing. (No one actually goes out when its -30 here - LOL) I just hope it is a nice color like Red or even yellow. I know they have to be bright enough that we can been seen (in case a member pulls an "Oates" and walks off into the sunset...)

Are you staying in the meet up hotel in BA?

Look forward to meeting you!!

Have you planned any activities in BA? I especially want to do the Jewish tour with BA Landing Pad. It's a great website for ideas and tips about BA. I'm not staying at the joining hotel -- too expensive so I'm doing what I always do - a hostel. And I find they are more fun than a hotel room. But my hostel is very close to the joining hotel - a couple of blocks I think. Maybe we can get together in BA before the tour begins.

We are using BA Landing Pad too!! We are going to do the Graffiti tour, take in a soccer/football game and the Tygre Biking and Kayaking. We are in the joining hotel at the beginning but rented an apartment for afterwards. i agree about hostels but I just could not get my husband to buy into it. I've been trying to convince him we should stay with the locals in Boca :)

How many days are you in BA before the trip? Hopefully we can connect!
