Hi everyone! My partner and I will be going on this adventure in September, and would love to chat with other folks going on the same trip ahead of time!

Post here if you are also going, and let's get to know each other. :)

I'm from Boston :)

4 weeks to go, getting excited for it! I have a co-worker who has been to Italy several times so I'm going to see what she recommends for good restaurants or any hidden gems!

What are you planning on taking for luggage? I have a rolling duffle bag, but trying to figure out what to use for the day-to-day.

@hanbilly & @eeo226, nice to meet you both!

We are from Portland, Oregon - and this will be our first trip to Europe! We are so excited!!

For luggage, I think we are going to try to keep it small - we have a backpack and a rolling bag as well, and they snap together. I was thinking of Googling "backpacking Europe in September packing list" to keep myself from packing too much...

What are you doing for towels? Do you think the hostels have them, or should I bring my own? If I could avoid taking one it would allow so much more room in my bag!

I think we are just going to pack a small hand/face towel instead of a full bath towel. I read a bit about hostels and some did say that towels might not be available, but they might be there to rent. Apparently there are also such things as "travel towels" which I assume would be foldable and quick-drying.

Only 9 more days!!! Looking forward to meeting you all and adventuring together!

I wanted to post a link to my FB profile if any of you wanted to "friend" me on there - https://www.facebook.com/sarahkatherinebrown - I am on there way more often than I am on here. :)

I'm getting excited too! Packed this weekend, but may have to take out a few things to make some more room. Didn't realize how much I use in a two week period!

I think I'm going to go online and try to buy tickets for some of the sights tonight or tomorrow, have any of you gotten tix for anything yet?

Hey Erin! We are now only days away! I cannot wait. I'll be using a backpack each day during the day.
I have a rolling duffle as well with many handles to grab from any angle. I'm packing very light (I think... haha).

My backpack will have a light fleece, a rain jacket, my first aid kit, my phone and iPad, and some snack bars and whatever else I need that day.

Hey Sarah! I definitely googled a lot of stuff over the past few weeks and I think it gave me a good idea of what I'll need. I've started organizing and packing. I cannot wait.

I'm using 2 gallon zip lock bags to roll my clothes into and then compressing the air out to make a little more room. it's working well. one for cardigans, one for socks, one for tops, etc.

I'm bringing my own towel. Everything in my suitcase is rolled to make a little more space. My towel will be rolled and packed on the side.
