I just booked my first Gap Adventure tour: Thailand on a Shoestring. The tour departs Saturday, January 26, 2013. The tour used to be called 'Roam Thailand'.

Is anyone else going on this trip?

I will be in Thailand for an additional 5 days. I'm still not sure if I will stay on the beach or go back to Bangkok.

That is great! I'm excited to meet you and your friend! I am staying for an extra 5 days aswell. As of right now I am planning on taking a massage course and doing some sightseeing and what not. I think I'll be staying in bangkok for the last 5 days, but you never know, all of that could change as soon as I get there!

Where are you two travelling from?

We are from Sydney
After the tour we have a few days in Bangkok before flying up to Hanoi for a tour of Vietnam

How long are you two touring Vietnam, Rhiannon? Will you be going anywhere else after Vietnam?

I am from Germany but currently live in China.

Have you booked your hotel/hostel yet for after the tour? If so, where are you staying? I am trying to figure out my accommodations for after the trip.

we are staying in hotel Asia Bangkok which is near the shopping district in Bangkok
in Vietnam we are doing a 15 day intrepid tour but we have 4 days at the topaz hotel in Hanoi for 4 nights before

Thanks for posting and introducing yourself! This is my first travelling experience like this as well. And as you mentioned I'm extremely excited but I am also very nervous. I just can't believe how close we are to the trip! It feels like I still have so much to do to prepare for it. Where are you flying from? I'm flying out of Toronto, ON...still kind of nervous about flying alone for the first time :s

I am in the process of making a pack list. Is everyone just following the recommendations on our itinerary or are you taking anything extra with you?

I'd appreciate any suggestions or ideas. I don't want to over/under-pack.
