Hi Guys

It's a shame we are not on the same trip Jase. Thanks for the offer of advice, I think I'm pretty much sorted on those bits apart from getting currency. You did make me nervous about the visa, but I've checked and definitely don't need one.

Dave - I'm not going to bother with malaria tablets either. Friends have said that they sometimes make you ill and the nurse said it was low risk. I've bought plenty of tropical repellent, but not sure it will work!

In terms of currency, I've read through one of the forums and it suggests taking low denomination, which you might not be able to get if exchanging there. I'm going to take a combination, but haven't decided on how much to take. I'll get back to you on that one when I've done some research and visited a travel agent.

I was wondering whether to book a transfer from the airport too. Think I'm being over cautious, but I've read comments about girls shouldn't travel alone... What do you think?

I hope it's sunny in Brazil, be great to get away from the rain! 8)

Hi,
not long to go now. I set off friday next week at studid o'clock. Think have sorted everything out now.
How is it going so far Jase, not sure if you will get round to reading this since your trip has already started.
Helen, transfers for me would depend on what time you arrive in BUE, if evening book the transfer or get taxi. I think I get there at 8pm and will try to get some bus it lists in the documentation from the airport.
I teach ICT with a bit of business in answer to a previous question and I have not got round to learning any spanish or portugise.
Regards
David

Hia! Just been reading your posts out of interest as I went on this tour two years ago! It was absolutely great, you'll have a fab time! With regards to taking a suitcase, a definite no no, you need a backpack. Lots of walking and running for buses etc and so much easier! Iguassu is breathtaking and needs to be seen to be believed. But the boat tour is better than the speedboat and if you have the money, do the helicopter ride. Our tour leader said not to bother but a few of us did and it was soooo worth the money! The views of Iguassu from the air are fantastic! Also, go to Paraguay if they still offer it as a half day trip! A great couple of hours and a real eye opener! And you have to do the hangliding in Rio, what an experience and again the views are spectacular! And do the favela tour too if the g adventures guide still organizes it. The motorbike ride up to the top is scary but great fun, and even though the poverty is sad the people are so welcoming and it's a very humbling experience. We took malaria pills and we went same time as you but only took them when in Brazil. And you didn't get ripped off with the yellow fever jab, standard price is £60 - £70. I will be with on a tour of India when you are on yours so getting excited now myself! I wish you a safe trip and have a fantastic time!
