south african overland- to bring or not???

Just wondering whether I should be bringing my thermarest sleeping mat or if mats are provided on this trip...? Also is a sleeping bag rated to -12C too much over kill?
Also any tips on what would be considered essentail on a 52 day tour would be great!

Sleeping gear

hello!

All camping equipment (except for sleeping bag and pillow) are supplied. Warm, comfortable mattresses are also available. Bringing your Thermarest is optional---it just means more to carry!
