Vic falls to Nairobi
Hi there, I'm thinking of doing this tour. Just looking at the travel times per day and are these solid driving or time it takes to get from origin to destination point each day? Are there stop offs and things to see / do on the way?
Also, do you go to vic falls as a group orjust make your own way there on day 2?
Cheers
George

Re: Vic falls to Nairobi
some days are pretty solid travel, just pee stops and lunch stop..still passing through rural areas and local communities if you are interested in that sort of stuff. our longest day was from arusha to dar es salaam...14hrs driving that day, but random things can affect some legs of the trip that are beyond you and the driver's control. ferry troubles, border crossing line ups, illness, vehicle issues...but if the people on the truck with you are diverse enough, shouldn't be too boring, but definitely doesn't hurt to have a book or two along
our driver dropped off anybody who wanted to go to vic falls at the entrance and we had to find our own way back to camp. some also wanted to go to the zimbabwe side, so those people were dropped off at the border and then it was up the them to also find their own way back to camp...not very far from camp to the border or the falls.

There certainly are some long travel days...if it helps, the scenery is amazing. Bring a couple of good books. You'll be able to exchange with fellow travellers or at campsites.
