Visa for Tanzania
I will be traveling to Tanzania from the U.S. Several things I've read have indicated that it is easy to get my visa at the airport (I will be arriving at Kilimanjaro Intl) but I have a couple of questions. I read something about needing to show "proof of funds for the trip". What exactly does that mean? A bank statement? Also, are there any visa forms I need to have already filled out when I arrive?

Getting the visa as you enter the country at the airport is very easy and you don't need to bother filling anything out until you get in line. They have a very short form that takes half a minute to fill out.
Afraid I can't help you with the "proof of funds" question.

Thank you for the response. I've never traveled anywhere that required a visa so I'm just a little nervous...glad to know that getting it at the airport will be easy!

I know what you mean. I had traveled fairly extensively but Nairobi two years ago was really the first time I had to think about getting a visa. It was very simple but I can just imagine how things were in the Cold War era and before when you had to apply for visas weeks or months in advance.

Don't worry about filling it in before you go. Just make sure you have your first night accommodation address with you - they normally ask you where you are staying. With the proof of funds, well I don't even remember being asked this for Tanzania, but other places its been enough cash to last for your trip(remember we are Westerners and if you said you have a few hundred dollars on you, then that will probably be enough) alternatively credit/debit cards which you will have to hand anyway.
