Independent tours
What is the actual meaning of Independent style tours? I find the description a little vague.
Is it still in a group with a guide? Or is it independent in the sense that you do most of the stuff by yourself?
I'll be travelling by myself so obviously would like the security of a group and someone who knows what the are doing!

Re: Independent tours
Hi
If you want the companionship and security of a group and guide, then I suggest you don't do the independent tours. I believe they are just that - you go by yourself with accommodation and possibly transfers included. GAP describes Independent Tours as:
If you prefer to experience the world on your own terms or as an extension to your group tour—this is your trip style. You’re free to mix and match modules and local staff members are on standby to make sure your adventure goes off without a hitch. They’ll take care of the details—but the adventure is all yours.
