Spirit of Shacklton non-inclusive onboard ship costs

Postby 0ldfosil » Sun Jun 10, 2007 6:23 am

Just trying to budget 4 the non-inclusive onboard ship costs. - gratuities, laundry facilities, medical assistance, alcoholic beverages, local fees if not already mentioned, etc. - & in the past what has been considered "normal average expenditure". Would hate to be "caught short" on this "Trip of a Lifetime"

Hiya,

I went on the ship about a year ago for a couple of weeks. I had a few bottles of wine (I shared!) and did a bit of laundry (jeans a couple of times I think) and tipped well... in the end it was something like US $200? Hard to remember - but there were several options when it came to alcoholic beverages, I may not have chosen the least expensive ones. I had no problem using my credit card though, which was handy. I didn't need any medical assistance, so no $, but I'd check your insurance in case it is covered. Apart from the cash local payment (clearly noted on the site) there should be no extra fees.
Enjoy yourself, it will truly be the trip of a lifetime!!!
