Inca Trail

Postby columbus2.0 » Mon Aug 09, 2010 3:12 pm

I see there are spots open for some of the inca trail tours, but says the trail is "sold out". what does this mean, will I not be able to participate on the inca trail if I go?

Columbus,

The permits for the Inca Trail are limited to 500 per day by Peru and often sell out months in advance during high season. So, if there is space on a trip, but "sold out" is indicated, you will not have the option to take the 4 day Trail hike. GAP will offer other options instead, for instance, Lares trek. I wanted to include the link to this info. on the GAP website, but was unable to find it. It used to be there somewhere. So, best best, call a GAP rep. for the details.

Hi there, here's the link to the post on the Inca Trail pass being sold out:

There's also a link within this post too about the alternative Lares Trek if there is availability...here's the link:

There's a wealth of information on the forum so do take the time to search around.
