getting to the starting point
I am due to start a trip on Saturday in Bangkok. I have been given the starting point: Hotel De' Moc, Pra - Nakorn but have been given two bus numbers to catch from the airport. Which bus is it that I need to take and how will I know where to get off for the hotel.
Thanks, Katie

Hi Katie,
There are two buses you can use, the tourist bus or the local bus but then there's the taxi:
From the Suvarnabhumi to Bangkok:
At the airport, go downstairs and outside. Buy a ticket for the tourist bus (operated by Airport Express), to the Khao San Road. Ticket cost: 150 Bahts. Children free.
The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority operates regular bus routes from the airport to Bangkok. To catch the regular bus, you need to take a free shuttle at the 2nd floor of the airport to the domestic airport. Ticket cost: 34 Bahts. Children free.
Taxi from airport - Don't hire the taxis inside the airport. They are more expensive than the ones outside. Go down stairs and outside. Ask the taxi driver to turn on the meter, or else it will cost more. The taxi cost to the Khao San Road is less than 500 Bahts.
Here's a map of the hotel location too:

It seems Khao San Road isn't too far from your hotel...but when you board the bus just let the bus driver know where you want to go and try to sit near him.
Happy Travels!

If your going anywhere near KS road then get the airport bus, A2 I think it is - it will be full of other backpackers, so just get off where they do and follow them! This bus does not go down KS road but past the top end of it so it is not immediatley obvious. Failing that the bus driver will tell you anyway.
It goes every half hour.
If your worried about it, just get a taxi, its pretty cheap and very easy. Don't worry. Thailand is a back packers mecca.
