Single Travellers

Postby hay.le.yy » Thu Jan 21, 2010 3:09 am

Hi,
I am wondering how many other single travellers are usually on the YOLO style trips. I am an 18 year oldfemale, single traveller interested in the Great Mexico & Central American Journey and don't want to end up being only one of the only single travellers.

GAP attracts a lot of solo travelers. Don't worry about it, with rare exceptions you'll find at least one pal in your group to bond with -- and if you're REALLY lucky, the whole group will come together well.

It would be very unusual for you to be the only solo traveller.

Also, there are 4 legs to this trip so you'll have people coming and going throughout...some will be with you for the long haul.

Hi hayley,
I am also haley and 18 years old! I have the same concern as you... I'd love to travel to Thailand this June however I want to have people close in age as myself to hangout with. I read on another post that gap adventures will give you information about the ages of those participating on a particular trip if you give them a call!
Happy traveling!

Hi Haley,

You might want to look into doing a YOLO style trip. There's an upper age limit of 39 and the overall ages of travellers should be younger.

If you go the the GAP website, search ASIA and THAILAND then click the "advanced search" where you can choose the YOLO style trip to see what options GAP offers.

I'm a solo female traveller (age 25) and am actually booked on the great mexico and central american journey on 5th June this year. I was a bit nervous about going on my own but having browsed through the forums there seem to be lots of others in the same situation so it really put my mind at ease and now I just can't wait to get started on my trip!!
