As I have a light sleep and I heard that I snor myself, I get my "own room" as often as possible. For my benefit, but also not to make any enemies early on the trip ;-)

Out of nearly 50 countries and 5 years of travel, I have only had one massive problem for 2 weeks. That was camping and she didn't just keep me, her tent mate awake, but the entire tour bus awake. Alas, there were no spare tents. but everywhere else has been OK. Some people swear by ear plugs, but I always find they fall out or are otherwise uncomfortable.

I have suffered the odd night here and there, but sleeping in closer proximity to others than normal is something I, personally got used to.

I don't think there's a solid solution for the snorer or the people listening to it...just have to put up with it!

I have had several random roomies while traveling with G, been fun getting to know other guys. of course snoring is an issue once in a while, but not been unbearable. I have my own sleep habits, I sleep best sans any clothing so far no random roomie has complained. One shared he never had slept in the buff himself, I suggested he try it. He did and it was the only night he
did not start snoring as soon as he nodded off. Connection? maybe.

Those sleep phones look interesting. I wonder if you can angle them to cover your eyes too to block out pesky light pollution.

If you are sharing sleeping quarters, it is only natural to expect snoring among other things :P.

You have 3 options:

- Ignore it and try and go to sleep
- wear earplugs if they are two loud
- get your own room

One more option that isn't as likely, but ambient noise like a fan or open a window if its rainy. This will drown out some light to moderate snorers.

Good idea! I'll put on light music on my ipod which also helps
