ooooo yes - looking forwards to travels in 2012 too!
3 weeks with G in Cuba in March. Hiking in either Cyprus or Italy in May. Two weeks in Croatia in June/July. A week sailing the coast of Turkey in late September, chartering our own Gulet. And a weeks photography course in the UK's beautiful Lake District in November. Trying to fit in a week of dancing in Spain also, but it may be too tight!!!
Yay - bring it on!!!

Loving your style Zuleika...isn't it great we in the UK have 25 days leave! I also intend to buy a further 10 days which gives me 35 days to play with plus bank holidays :P

Super jealous of those with that many days off, I max out this year at 3 weeks (plus one week of office closed Xmas to New Years) of vacation. Of course, I blew the budget on trips last year, so vacations may need to be shorter and closer anyway.

Nothing set in stone yet, but I'm eyeballing some domestic roadtrips, possibly Yellowstone/Grand Tetons and up to Glacier NP, or Albuquerque, NM to Grand Junction, CO through Canyon de Chelly, Monument Valley, Moab, Arches, Canyonlands, etc. Probably spend a long weekend in Yosemite in late summer, kayak trip in October. It's a good thing I'm back at my desk, because now I can get down to planning some of this stuff when I should be working...

I was looking to take a couple weeks to do a G trip with one of my nephews but he doesn't seem to have the same wanderlust. I'll discuss it a little more with his mother but I may retract my offer (had given the parents a choice of 8-12 G trips to talk about) and just travel solo. If I go solo, I'm actually thinking of one of Biosphere Expeditions' voluntours -- at this point am leaning toward the Namibian expedition for 2 weeks of supporting scientific research but am also thinking about the scuba-based expeditions.

LOL - cheers Travelfun! Yes we are lucky in the UK I agree.
I get 35 days leave, working for the NHS. The downside is the crappy deal at Christmas/NYE, let alone nights, weekends etc etc - ho hum! Still, very glad to have this many days off so I can travel - more than makes up for everything!!!!

Geez, do you work at all? :o

I have just one little trip for 2012, a 4x4 self drive safari through Botswana. No G trip this year, but next year looks likely.

Blew all my big international trip money last year by going to the Galapagos with "G" - but, oh so worth it!! So, will stay more or less local. Only thing that is firm is a week long cycling tour in the Texas hill country in April. Bluebells instead of blue footed boobies.

I have just confirmed a spot on Trekking Mont Blanc at the end of June, and planning a trek in the Himalayas sometime in October.

And if my financial situation allows for it I'll be climbing Mt. Elbrus at the end of July (not with G, though).

Because of a work gratification I got this year 6 weeks off.

So in 10 days my G "Indochina Encompassed" starts(4 weeks starts) with Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia covered. I'm looking so forward to this journey. I just hope I can stand the heat.

End of August I plan to go on a railway trip (including at least two ferries, two flights and a couple of buses) around Western Europe with the theme "the midgets of Europe". Covering Luxembourg, Jersey and Guernsey, Gibraltar, Andorra, Monte Carlo, San Marino and maybe Vatican City (and of course the countries in between to reach this midgets; France, England, Spain and Italy). I still have to figure out some things and if I can make it in two weeks. But I work for the Swiss Railways, so at least the train journeys are preety much for free or at least very cheap for me.
