Jimshu says goodbye!
Time to move on for this guy, everyone.
Sad to finally have to say this to the great members and friends here.
Looking back over the fun, the learning, and the growth of this forum I would have to say that the welcoming and friendly ambience of this forum is a credit to all the members!
In the early days I prompted or encouraged a lot of discussion threads, but as time went on and other members began to frequently pop in and boost the forum along I pulled back, let others keep them going, and just looked after the mundane, boring admin-background stuff content to know the forum was being tended by very enthusiastic guys. Gee, I have learnt a hell of a lot from you all!!
Kay and I will still be travelling but things are changing in our lives and our mode of travel and destinations will be built and fitted around family stuff. India/Nepal and East Africa look likely, but most travel will be based from UK.
I'll always be popping in from time to time. So with Christmas hols, and a Galapagos cruise coming up it's a good time to go!
All the best everyone. Have a really great Christmas, and may the New Year be a cracker!

Hmm Jim and Judy both leaving at the same time...highly suspicious. I say we start some rumours...
I'd say I'll miss you Jim but since I get your 2,000 FB posts each day, I would by lying lol.
I jest!
We all appreciate your hard work and honesty on these forums! It's been a lot of fun debating climate change
I know I said Italy for 2013 but let's make it interesting, Italy or China to Tibet. Can't wait to hear about your Galapagos trip.
You know there's room for you and Kay on the self drive through Botswana. It's going to be fantastic! If you change your mind, let me know. I think we have room for you on the roof. Anyone else care to join?

Another great moderator moves on.... Yes, first JJudy and now the best thing to come out of New Zealand since kiwis and bungee jumping. Thanks, Jimshu, for your thoughts and information.
Guess this will give you more time to make boots and shoes for the next Hobbit movies.

Re: Jimshu says goodbye!
Awww, thanks guys. No connection between Judy and I moving on, just happens that way. I will be catching up with her in Cuenca, Ecuador next month and discussing who said what about us both leaving....
Oh and who got the most ''Sad to see you go '' Posts...
So crank them up guys.!
More time for Facebook posts now Daniel!
BTW, I turned down work for the Hobbit. They got others to make for them, then when they rung me to fix up someone else's work I took a wee bit of pleasure in saying "Sorry, too busy>"

Best of luck and happy travels Jim! Thanks for all of your time and advice, and the efforts you put in to help others get the most out of their travels.
But don't go to far, I may need to pick your brain about New Zealand travel!

Just had a great visit from Jimshu in Ecuador. Such a treat to meet the guy behind over 3,000 posts here at the Watering Hole. You'll be a tough act to follow, Jim.
Buen viaje!
