Post Office at Port Lockroy. BBC documentary

Famous for its enormous icebergs, towering glaciers and shimmering summer light, Antarctica offers some of the planet's most awe inspiring landscapes. The North Atlantic and Arctic evoke images of sparse snow covered lands, but when summer comes it bursts with colour and life.

I am not sure how many people here can get the BBC but there is a documentary on 8.00pm 24th July (UK time) about the post office in Antarctica plus the wildlife that lives around it. It will probably be on I-player for a while too.

I can't wait to go there!

I just finished watching this, what a great programme! It has got me so excited about going later in November. I really hope all the g boats stop there - I was trying my best to spot the red parkas they give us :)

i love Port Lockroy. Incredible museum preserved and Jougla Point (the island next door)
great for blue eyed shags.

We always get there if its ice free.
