Shower storage on the MS Expedition?

Famous for its enormous icebergs, towering glaciers and shimmering summer light, Antarctica offers some of the planet's most awe inspiring landscapes. The North Atlantic and Arctic evoke images of sparse snow covered lands, but when summer comes it bursts with colour and life.

Shower storage on the MS Expedition?

Postby origcavy » Thu Oct 18, 2012 4:04 pm

A bit of a silly question, but how much storage is there in the shower? Are there little shelves/ledges to put shampoo, soap, etc on or would a mesh caddy that can hook over the showerhead be best?

Thanks! :)

i would bring a mesh caddy to be safe...I can't remember the shower size, but if anything, if the drake crossing is rough, you won't find everything on the bathroom floor!

The mesh caddy is an excellent idea. I think they have a hanger that comes down from the shower head and has enough room for a bar of soap and couple tiny bottles of shampoo. The shower itself is about the size of a hall closet.

Thank you! :)

I've seen showers before in RV's that cut out all of the little ledges to save space and there was nowhere other than the floor to put stuff. That got a bit acrobatic with a bad knee in a TINY shower! :)

I'll go with the mesh caddy to hang just incase there isn't something available.

On a similar subject, does anyone know if electric hair dryers are provided on board, or should you bring your own?

sanfranjanet, my bathroom in Category 2 Twin didn’t have a hair dryer. But at the end of my last trip I saw a lady returning a hair dryer in its box to the reception. Therefore I assume the reception can lend you one.
