Antarctica Leopard Seal Encounter

Famous for its enormous icebergs, towering glaciers and shimmering summer light, Antarctica offers some of the planet's most awe inspiring landscapes. The North Atlantic and Arctic evoke images of sparse snow covered lands, but when summer comes it bursts with colour and life.

Antarctica Leopard Seal Encounter

Postby mrsask » Fri Mar 01, 2013 6:35 pm

I have posted a video taken during the Jan. 29th Antarctic Classic aboard the MS Expedition. This video captures a close encounter with a leopard seal that about 20 of us in 2 Zodiaks experienced. The leopard seal was trying desperately to get onto a small piece of ice with out much luck. If you were on this trip, I hope the video brings back some fond memories and if you are heading that way soon, I hope you too get to experience something special like this. The video was taken in Pleneau Bay on Feb. 3, 2013
