Avatar: here and then gone
Anybody else having trouble since the upgrade with disappearing Avatars? I've re-uploaded mine twice, had it appear for a few days and then - POOF - gone again. And, yet, when I check my user settings it is still there.

Hi graybeard, it's a known IT issue which is being addressed at the moment by the experts. Your avatar is still there but it's a case of which server is holding it and which one is being accessed at the time of your connection...kindalike simply put.

DanielB - FYI as of 7:35 PM MDT, yours was not showing up. Mine either.
Travelfun - thanks for this info. Hope they don't have to "hold it" too long....

Yeah, I miss the avatars too. It's interesting how much you get to know people by their avatars. Today I can see you, graybeard, but not DanielB (or myself, for that matter).

I believe the IT guys said something like...there's 2 servers so if you log in and get the server the avatar is uploaded to you see it, if you get the other one you don't. They're in the process of working it out though.

Ok... well it's been almost 4 months now ... how much longer will it take IT to resolve this issue?

Jimshu,
Hope you are right, even though things that happen "in the backroom" tend to make me nervous. If the site had been working properly we would not have lost Zuleika. I always found her comments and info. very useful and miss them.
